Asbestos
Northern Analytical Services, LLC. (NAS) offers asbestos related services ranging from bulk sample collection to complete remediation project design and management. Our services in this area include:
AHERA Management Plans
NAS conducts building inspections and writes Management Plans in accordance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) for our clients. We also conduct the required 3-year re-inspections and periodic surveys for existing management plans. Our reports are easy to read and provide all of the required information to allow our clients to successfully manage their asbestos containing materials.
OSHA Required Asbestos Building Inspections
According to the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth (MDLEG) all public buildings constructed prior to 1980 are required to have on file a complete asbestos building inspection. To help our clients comply with this regulation, NAS can conduct a thorough investigation of your facility to document the types, locations, quantities, and condition of materials that are suspected to contain asbestos. This information is then compiled into a comprehensive report along with CAD drawings to properly document the materials found and any asbestos detected.
Asbestos Abatement Specifications
To assist our clients with remediation projects, NAS can prepare abatement specifications that completely define the scope of work and bidding guidelines. We work with our clients to determine the scope of work, projected budget, schedule, and advertisement requirements. Once bids are received, NAS works with our clients to thoroughly evaluate each bid to ensure the right contractor is selected for the job.
Project Management
NAS uses a team of highly qualified industrial hygienists to manage remediation sites from the field. Hygienists oversee the selected asbestos abatement contractor's day to day operations to ensure the project is being completed safely and in accordance with the project specifications and applicable regulations.
Air Quality Testing
In addition to the project management services described above, NAS's hygienists conduct air quality testing prior to, during, and upon completion of remediation projects. Pre-abatement baseline air quality studies are conducted to assist with project designs; Ambient air testing is performed during remediation projects to evaluate the effectiveness of the engineering controls in place; Post abatement clearance testing follows the abatement project to ensure the area is safe for re occupancy. We also conduct personnel air monitoring during abatement activities to help contractors meet OSHA requirements and as part of negative exposure assessments.
